iPlotz is a valuable tool for web designers. Users can create mock ups and wireframes that help them explain how a finished product will look and function. iPlotz gives the user freedom to create an idea in a raw form then show it to others for collaboration or project approval. Explaining ideas for websites and similar products can be very challenging. The client or partner’s perception of a project may be different than the designer’s when explained in plain words. iPlotz allows users to take those words and enhance them with mock ups and wireframes that provide a better representation for all involved.
iPlotz was founded in January of 2009 by Mark Vernon. Based in Stephens City, Virginia, iPlotz was intended to provide users with web design mockups that could be constructed quickly. Today, the iPlotz team remains small but the functionality of this valuable website and application design tool is far from insignificant. Users can collaborate better and gain a better understanding of what the finish product will look like when using iPlotz.
Creating a mock up or wireframe to explain how a website or application is going to look and function can be difficult. Explaining it is not nearly as effective and web designers have enough on their hands to spend excessive time in the mock up. iPlotz helps reduce the amount of time needed by giving designers an easy way to build a mock up or wireframe that looks good enough to share with team members or the client.
iPlotz offers a professional design that is ideal for sharing with other professionals. The wireframes and mock ups are versatile. They contain enough detail to get the point across without spending more time than necessary on the planning phase of a project. The black and pink color scheme of iPlotz gives the application a little flavor without taking away from its functionality. The tools are very easy to use and learn and flexible enough to work with any application or website project.
New users can learn more about iPlotz by clicking on the “Video Demo” button found at the bottom left hand corner of the homepage. Those who wish to create an account can click the “Get Started” button to the left of it. The user is directed to the pricing and plans chart which includes four account options. After selecting an account type and clicking the corresponding button, the user is taken to the registration form. The form asks for an email address, password, name, address, city, state, country location and telephone. Company name is optional. Next, the user must choose between number of users and billing options. After entering credit or debit card details, the user can complete registration.
iPlotz is available with four account options. The cheapest is the free account which costs nothing and includes one project, up to five wireframe pages, unlimited team members, auto renewal, up to ten wireframe history entries per project, 500 MBs of storage space, the ability to export in as a PDF, JPG/PNG, or HTML document, URL preview, generate embedded wireframe function, and free unlimited updates. The single user account is available for about $15 per month or $100 per year. This account upgrades to include unlimited projects and wireframes, 30 history entries, 1 GB of storage space, wireframe right for shared projects, and desktop license (with one year subscription only). The multiple user account costs just under $300 a year for up to five users and just under $500 per year for 10 users. This membership upgrades to include enough desktop licenses for each user. An iPlotz desktop application is available for about $75.
iPlotz is ideal for anyone who creates applications or websites. User can show what they are creating before putting in a lot of time. This can save hours in edits and changes because the client or partner can provide input and alter the mock up or wireframe.
